Tomorrow is technique night so I'll have to wait till next monday. I told the rugby coaches I'd be back for practise, so I'll be winded at judo practise. Ugh this sucks, on top of that I didn't do any homework and went to judo instead hahahaha

Great thread guys.
Good stuff earlier on the Yamashita o-soto video, first time Ive seen it. Perfect basics as always from him, not a proponent of fancy judo, great to see.
My judo has been ok, my arm is still aching sometimes so Ive been developing throws outside of my usual repertoire, going well although the weather here is heating up and soon the dojo will be like a sauna.

RELAX. The more looser you are the more confident you'll be with throws. Also, don't worry about getting thrown; if you do, you'll tense up and make it harder for you to throw.
Commit to throws. Don't half-ass them because you'll hesitate and mess up.
But the real trick to getting throws is just go out there and practice.

I've been thinking i really want to work on my standup to aide my BJJ competition.
My current plan:
Every class do some uchikomi for 3 basic throws - I"m thinking Osoto Gari, O Goshi, and Ippon Seionage.
Would anyone say that other throws would be better?
After doing anywhere from 20-100 uchikomi (probably atleast 30 easily)
I"d do each throw 10 times with soem movement between me and my partner, i.e. basic circling, some light grip fighting, minimal resistance type stuff, just so that it becomes fluid.
Thoughts?

Tao Otoshi is a great throw to work uchikom from,
O Goshi not so much
replace O Goshi with a
Dehasi Harai
Then you have backwards with the osoto
forwards with the ippon seonagi
and sideways with the deashi harai

^de ashi might be a bit advanced, the timing on it is rather hard.

you could do the drill where the uki (the one being thrown for you bjj'ers) jumps up and down, he said he wanted throws for uchikomi, that is a great way to practise timing and uchikomi
