Maybe but the guy in white lands on his side and the one in blue lands on his neck/back. If anything I would have called it for the guy in white. Looked like a miracle reversal.

Edit. now that I looked closer the guy in white actually landed on his stomach. No way that's an ippon for the guy in blue.

The way I saw it it was a counter by the white player. When he was on the blue guy's shoulders and coming down, he rotated onto his stomach. With the way that Blue's arms were holding his legs, white guy's rotation pulled Blue's shoulders all the way back and onto the mat.

That better not have been ippon, besides, isn't falling backward during a throw like kata-guruma insinuate a severe penalty? Tori is extremely lucky he didn't become wheelchair bound.

I was asking my instructor last night whether grabbing the inside of your own sleeve is legal and he said it wasn't. I ask because I'm supplementing the judo groundwork I learn at the dojo with some BJJ techniques from an instructional video. The Ezekiel choke calls for you to grab the inside of your own sleeve but it seems this is illegal. Pulling off the Ezekiel by grabbing the outside of the sleeve seems a lot more difficult to achieve.

Also, I was just checking Wiki and got this:

You are permitted to insert your fingers inside your own gi openings.

I hit the ezekiel all the time in practice fingers in. I believe you can grab inside your own just not inside someone elses.

That guy's Carlos Mendez, one of three brothers who are pretty much living legends of Judo here in Puerto Rico. My main coach was teammates with him, and he just calls him "that mutant", lol.
