I've seen a few Olympians at my clubs lately. One of which was in the '00 Sidney games; Keith Morgan.

Thats cool, Morgan was a good player. Is Gill from Quebec? Only occured to me when you mentioned his stuff on sale that he could be from there, Ive never heard him speak!!

Im training at the moment with two brothers, either of which could be big shots in the future in Japan. The better of the two is actually the lazier and they have a hard time getting him on the mat and keeping him underweight, but dear Lord is he untouchable. His kid brother is an athletic freak akin to a gymnast and is incredibly good and motivated, not quite as talented. Getting beaten mercilessly the last few months by this pair, good times.

Yeah, Nick Gill lives and trains in MTL. He's living easy now IMHO, training the National team brings him in aroun 80K/year (so I've heard) plus he has his popular judo company Gill Sports.

As Q said earlier though, my 1st coach Bill Thompson scored Ippon on him with Uchi Mata.

Brad Farrow also stopped by the club once. I've never improved more in one night in my life. His Osoto Gari (or at least the way he tought it to me) was just perfect.

Nice to hear some of these guys doing well, thats the tough thing about judo not being big ticket, unless they really make it not a lot of them can earn a great living out of it, glad to hear he is doing well. Poor guy kept getting to semi-finals and finals and meeting either Inoue or Jeon, and got canned each time. Great career though, even getting to an olympic final is a monumental achievement.

True, but if you ask anyone who knows anything about the sport, they won't hesitate to praise Gill as one of the legends of the sport.

I could take him though!

Might aswell add something new to this thread. This is a short documentary of Doug Rogers living and training in Japan shortly after he won an Olympic Silver Medal for Canada in the very first Olympics for Judo.
