Fallon/Nomura in the final, Nomura by huge ippon. Get in.
Dave Douillet?

Nomura has the most golds though.

Since we're on the topic of Olympic Judoka, I'm going to state my fav:

Jim Bregman (1964 Bronze, Tokyo)

First American to medal in the sport, he also took Bronze at the World Championships.

A classy and humble guy. Granted we Amercians don't have many Olympic Medalist to choose from, I'm going to go with the guy that did it first, and did it with class.

Oh and the fact that he promoted me to Sankyu doesn't hurt him in my eyes either.

Kind of an obvious an answer for me, but I fuckin love inoue's style. His uchi mata/ouchi gari and standing upright style is what I like.

Mr. Bregman likes the Uchimata. I was lucky enough to have been his uke for it when he was down doing a clinic for my club. Getting effortly tossed around by a 60-something man with flawless technique is something I will not soon forget.

His attitude for the whole Sydney incident pissed me off no end. He made fun of Yamashita's protesting and then outright refused to even acknowledge there had been anything to get worked up about, even though its obvious to anyone with eyes that not only was he ipponed, but he knew it too and you could tell as much by his body language and when he saw the corner judge give it. Then when he realised he had got off the hook he totally changed. I dont like that at all, everyone gets good and bad decisions but you acknowledge them. Not classy how he behaved in light of that at all.

Fair enough, but that last thing I would want is a shitty decision against me in the Olympics. I can understand what you mean though.

A bad decision of epic proportions is what that was, he had a couple of contemptuous looks down at Shinohara during the medal ceremony too which wasnt good. Shinohara was a much much better player IMO, but both times they met he got such brutal ref cock ups against him. Hes never protested them much, but in 1997 in Paris at the worlds he was winning and a French ref gave an awful decision which cost him the match, then the same at the 2000 tournament, makes Douillet look the better player but I think technically he is much inferior.
