Agreed tho, they should call it what they like.
Funny you mentioned that, Kesa is one of the few "traditional" terms we use with pins.

Armbars and chokes are usually called by their traditional names or English translations with a few exceptions.

Yeah, that 2 on 1 belt grip uchi mata he does still scares me. Judo is going great, out here in Calgary there are 2 clubs that work together, so you pay one fee and have access to both. I should have been graded for green ages ago but I'm happy where I'm at right now because of the divisions in comps you know...

ps. Why no love for nomura (sp) in greatest judoka discussions?

Not really sure who Nomura is. I love the guy tho

I love judo but don't know much about the history or fighters really. Not compared to the other fellas. I'm along the lines of 'why no love for Pawel' in mma discussions and have just recently joined judo again since last being 2000

Good to hear you're enjoying judo.

Tadahiro Nomura, he won three Olympic Golds in a row.

Glad to hear you're back into the swing of things. Thanks again for hooking me up in the 1st place.

Nomura is a class act, I would love him to win the 4th medal, it annoys me no end that the guy who has the most golds in olympic history is a stinkin' frenchman right now.

Fallon/Nomura in the final, Nomura by huge ippon. Get in.

Amazing. In the 2nd vid, watch at the distance in which he attacks with osoto. I had to keep pausing it to see.
