Wrestling the jolly green giant
I have to wrestle some kid who is like 6'6'' tomorrow (189 lb w/c). I am trying to come up with a strategy tonight on how to wrestle him, I never really had to wrestle any tall kids before, and this kid is good. Apparantly he likes to do a lot of snatches, he likes to shoot too but his arms are so damn long he doesn't even really have to shoot so it is would be hard to sprawl on. I'll probably feel him out the first round, tie up a little bit and see if I could get a quick toss. Then maybe the ol' reliable double, or low single. Idk, anyway, any advice?

Whenever I wrestled somebody that was taller than me ( I'm 5'10") i would just hit low singles or even hit an outside single, trap the ankle, and work from there.

Correct. But generally speaking, don't let a much taller opponent control the tie ups and distance because there are ranges where he can attack and you can't - don't let him work freely at those distances. Either don't tie up at all or constantly work and pummel inside to take away his length advantage and to take some of the leverage out of of his ties. The rest depends. Just hit your stuff.
