Judo promotions are unlike BJJ. Judo and BJJ view the black belt differently. For example BJJ a black belt is viewed as an expert whereas in Judo the black belt is viewed as a serious serious student. I believe it is around 4-5 dan when a judoka can be considered a true expert.

I previously posted about concerns of being promoted too fast. Take it as a compliment and use it to only train harder and learn more. I too felt weird about being promoted so fast, but then it prompted me to read more learn more and practice more so that I felt that I needed to be up to speed with what I expected of a X belt color. Keep up the good work.

Tell your instructor to take his floozy promotion style and shove it up his ass.
