triangle protection

ok so tonight i wrestled this huge guy he was about 250...i am 144 you do the math...he never trained, and he just had strenth weight on me (obviously).

so i have my tringle set, his arms across and hes getting red, just as i go to pull his head down... he just stands up(luckily for me he didn't slam me cause were good friends so i just jumped off)

so what can i do to ensure that he doesn't stand up?

BTW, I did have a grip on his inner thigh and i realised it to finalize, so should i just have choked him with the sheer force of the legs--what if that isnt enough?
ok so tommorow night ill talk to my instructor and sort it all out, but i was just curious.

thanks in advance!

Hooking a leg will prevent him standing up in many cases.

if he does stand up, take the arm-bar instead.

(see Nog Vs. Coleman for details)

oooo yea!...but when he stood up his trapped arm was let go so he gripped behind my back, is that just me not thinking fast enough(at all)?

also he lifted me high like above him think children going like a shoulder ride but on the front.

hehe he pulled a jackson on you. if he slammed you down, you should've blamed the headbutt for the ko.

in all seriousness, hooking his leg should prevent him from lifting you up. i know how you feel though, im about your size and fight guys well over 50lbs heavier than me. even going for a triangle armbar can result in getting slammed, he can still crush you with his weigh if he drops you down and spikes you on your head. but thats not a very nice thing to do in training, and if it were a fight you should break his arm before he does it.

Next time try threatening him with the triangle, but sweep him from there to mount.

It’s always going to be hard to pull off triangles and armbars from the guard on someone larger then you. Hooking the leg with them is a must.

As soon as he starts to stand and you get a leg kick your hips out and pull the leg at the same time. It should get him on his back with you having a mounted triangle.

Also pinch teh knees together to get more pressure instead of trying to pll the head and having to release the leg
