Throw not listed in the nagewaza...

I've had this file on my computer for years now and I always thought it was a fantastic looking throw. But I can't find it in the waza anywhere. Anyone know anything about this, and if it's an actual Judo technique or not?

Generally called the Kharabelli in Judo, though originally from Sambo I believe.

I don't seem to have the right codec for watching the video.

However, just to answer the question generally, all of the non-joint locking throws in aikido can be found in judo.

There is not always a one to one correspondence, but the general principles are the same.

Off the top of my head, here are the major four non-joint locking throw classes in aikido and their judo equivalents:

Irimi nage (entering throw) -- sort of a mix between sumi otoshi (corner drop) and tani otoshi (valley drop); basically it's tani otoshi without the sacrifice part

Koshi nage (hip throw) -- any of the hip techniques in judo

Kokyu nage (breath throw) -- any of the uki (floating) techniques in judo; also some of the more timing based judo throws

Aiki otoshi (harmonizing drop) -- any of the sutemi (sacrifice) techniques in judo

Here's a neat clip of Khabarelli doing his signature move (and a few others):

Would I be correct in teaching it as a counter move to a stuffed uchimata?

Though I know we're talking about the first throw, I love that second throw even more.
Simple, direct, absolutely nothing fancy about it at all.

Hey Yeahbee, as a counter to a stuffed uchimata? Can you elaborate a little? I'm having a difficult time visualizing getting the over the shoulder belt grab grip after stuffing the uchimata.

yeah didn't see that at first glance, http://www.judo-praxis.de/Technik/Te...habarelli.html third pic there when his legs go in between looks kinda like an uchi entrance,

I could do it as the powermove it is I wanted to see if there was a more technical entry

Khabarelli is a lot similar to a sumigaeshi (As far as the grip goes) but done picking up your opponent like a wrestling frontal suplex (It's called also Georgian Wheels)
