Team Titan def. Camp Pendleton in Team Submission Wrestling Duel Meet

Cal State Fullerton’s Team Titan defeated Camp Pendleton in the first ISWA Submission Wrestling Team Duel.
Props to both teams and the ISWA guys for putting on a great duel!


RESULTS:

135lbs. Team Titan's Jesse Miramontes DEF (Arm Bar) Eric Teson of Camp Pendleton

145lbs. Team Titan's Jimmy Kirkemo DEF (Heel hook) Maj Scott Dewitt Camp Pendleton (Props to Dewitt who steped up as a last minute replacement)

155lbs. Camp Pendleton's Mike Corey DEF (Guillotine) Juan Mora of Team Titan.

170lbs. Team Titan's Jeff Sliva DEC (Minor decesion) Josh Cain of Camp Pendleton

185lbs. Former Marine now Team Titan Scott Judd DEC (Minor decesion) Jonathan Romero of Camp Pendleton The match was tied 4-4 until Judd scored with a last minute takedown.

205lbs. Camp Pendlton's Tyeson Reyes DEC (Arm Bar) Justin Ziolaoski Team Titans.

260lbs. Team Titan's Matt Methling DEC ( Minor Decision) Corey Bennin of Camp Pendleton.
*Bennin went on to defeat Methling in the finals of the individual tournament makeing for a good future match up.


Final Score:

Team Titan - 27
Camp Pendleton -17


Great duel with many of the matches going either way. Hopefully the two teams will meet again meet at the 8 way Team World Cup on Aug 20th .

that was defintily a great duel, i havent been that tired since pac 10s over a year ago. those guys came out in shape and made it a tough match

Great Job Everyone! There will be many Team Dual Meets in the future this format is a big part of the future of submission wrestling. A starting position on any one these squads will be a coveted and highly contested position.

How did the dual format make the atmosphere? I remember tourney formats in Wrestling were relitavely laid back up until finals, where the duals each and every match was very exciting due to the fans and teammates making a big deal of it.
