T-Rex Body Type Fighting

I've studied boxing for a while, and I don't have much of a good reach. I've got a t-REX body type. Think of me as a shorter flabby Matt Hughes with short arms. How do I close in a gap to go for a shoot, slam, or plain takedown?WoodenRonin@aol.com

A short armed boxer? I think we should be asking you that.

Hmm, have you considered that fighting may not be your forte?

Barring that, I would say you should think about pulling guard.

My arms are not freakishly short. I'm just built stocky.

I'm short. I try to make sure I get the first move or dictate the pace of that match. I also try to fight only herbivores and stay away from other carnivores like raptures (didn't you see Jurassic Park? - raptures are evil!).

You mean raptors? Or the thing where Jesus comes back and whisks you away?

one word.

mike tyson.

jab your way in to close the distance, a little slipping plus a level change should get you in position for the double leg.

even if your arms are short, you should still be able to throw him off with quick jabs while you step in to go for the takedown. After you close the gap you could either go for the legs or tie up. And theres way too many options from there to name. thats just one example. hoped that helped. if not w/e, im too stoned to care. luls.
