So i started at a Judo club

I started at a Judo club last night and i am fucking sore. The club has alot of black belts and some of them seem interested in BJJ, others not so much. Anyone here who does Judo think training judo once a week is enough, I am going to spend the rest of my time training BJJ becuase i can realy only make it to Judo once a week due to work.

Hey, it's better than nothing. Plus, if you are croos-training, you'll be geting enough training, IMO. How many times a week will you be training total, including judo and BJJ?

we have a judo class once a week where i train, and after four years i am pretty good in judo, still have some problems, but not many

i noticed that it helps me a ton when i roll. Since most of the poeple i roll w/ are bigger, wrestling takedowns don't cut it. Whenever we clinch, i just do a sweep and get a dominant position.------judo rules

I started with just Judo 3-4x a week. I now train MMA/BJJ 3x a week & only make judo 1x per week. I think once is enough just to supplement my other training. If you are training only once a week total, it will take a very long time to get any good, but still much better than sitting on the couch.

i started out doing judo when i was 15 and then went to bjj a year later. i underappreciated judo at the time, because i was grappling crazy but now i would like to do some more throwing again after spending so much time wrestling and non-gi graplling.

non-gi throws and grappling are fast, slick and practical, but gi grips and throws are just fun as hell.

BJJ usually 5x times a week plus Judo one time a week.

Alot of blackbelts also means you can learn a great deal from that class so even once a week will be great. That along with BJJ and yeah your set .... Good Luck

Man that is so true, only wish my school was that way!!

Right now, on average we have 2 blackbelts who consistently make it to class only to work with the multitude of kids that are in there (nothing against the kids). Last night really kind of irked me because only 1 BB showed up, never had been there before, and let the kids run the warmups. It took 40 minutes to get through the warmups and I almost walked out after that BS. The rest of us "older" guys work with the "older" yellow belts, but at least I'm learning something for only $40 a month, 4x a week. Oh also, on mondays, I go to a jiu jitsu session at the same gym with some cops and prison guards, no kids, just an older group.
