Ribs hurt after rolling?

Being the smallest guy at my gym in terms of weight (6'0 150 lbs) and very new to BJJ I often find my self under the pressure of a much larger guy. This has led to pain in my ribs after rolling. It's not constant pain but hurts when I cough or twist a certain way. Does this happen to any one else? And could it be due to improper technique while I'm trying to sweep?

probably a pulled muscle.

To add to this thread, since i started BJJ 5 months ago everytime I sneeze my ribs hurt (on my back left side) anyone ever had this? If its the day after rolling hurts at the front sometimes too.

My lowest rib pops during crunches from a spinning heel kick in a previous fight, it happens as long as it doesnt affect your breathing its usually just a pulled muscle. Your rib cage isnt built to have tremendous pressure coming down onto it. Stretch it out and work on your bottom game
