This.

People would be so much better off if they just went and trained instead of asking about what would happen if they DID train.

As Nike said, "training is the opposite of hoping".

Dean teaches pure bjj at Throwdown in addition to teaching mma oriented classes. I noticed a few people in this thread think deans teaches more mma style grappling, not at all. He does teach that, but also teaches pure bjj as well.

Last I heard University of Jiu Jitsu was:

(for men)

**$100 enrollment fee --includes 2 patches and 2 books (Jiu Jitsu University and The Gracie Way) .

month to month = $200/month
6 month agreement = $175/month
12 month agreement = $150/month

**another note of interest is that I believe you have the option to add training at The Arena MMA school that is right next door for $30 more a month (regularly $75/per month) when you are enrolled at University of Jiu Jitsu.

There is many great places to train in San Diego, but I really think Saulo/Xande provide some of the most quality technique I have ever seen.

I agree with Rambo.

Also, I'm sure they offer a few free classes. Anywhere from one day to one week. So just check BOTH out and see which place you prefer more. Simple.

Go try them both out.

Being in a state without a single black belt in it (yet), I'd take either of them in a heart beat.

That being said, if they both lived next door....I'd probably take more brownies to the Ribeiro house....nothing against Dean though.

You can't say "not at all" and then follow it with "well...he DOES teach that."

Is that a quote from the company or the goddess?
Either way, I'm stealing it.

univeristy of jiu jitsu hands down!

i remember going to city boxing when dean was there and it was complete bs!

the first day we had an orientation the showed us highlights of dean lister (talk about a mc dojo!)

well to each his own. but throwdown and city boxing aren't really to my likings.

in sdeezy id say: 1. und1sputed, 2. university of jj in that order ive heard good things from gracie barra close to usd (small classes and basics) and american boxing as well in pacific beach.

hope it helped.

good luck!
