Question about no gi Ippon-seoi-nage and no gi judo in general

I've seen some guys in mma use ippon-seoi-nage, like Karo and Joe Stevenson in his fight with Luke Cumo. Has anyone around the boards been successful in using this technique in a no gi environment? It seems to me that you could easily get your back taken, and not have the thought of getting stood back up by the ref after 5 seconds of holding off a hadaka jime for 5 seconds.

Also, what are some other judo techniques that can be easily transfer from gi to no gi? *I'm talking about throws.*

I used a tomoe nage in no-gi once, I went straight to mount and transitioned to an armbar. I wouldn't use an Ippon Seonagi, i would rather do a drop seonagi and only when my opponent was pushing me or rushing me.

Yes, but I tend to do it to the side, which can be a little dangerous if the guy doesn't know what it going on. At least he doesn't get much of a chance for RNC.

Kataguruma is another one you could do in a nogi environment.

My youngest brother used this move in one of his toughest wrestling tournaments when he was a sophmore. it was against the #2 seed in the tournament in the semi finals. So yes it does work no gi. It works best if the opponet is moving towards you however as was the case in this match. In wrestling it is called the "arm spin".

I heard they all can work (the throws I mean) with just a little bit of adaptation.

Not all, but most do with varying degrees of success.

You do drop when you do the nogi ippon seonage. It is a pretty common HS wrestling move called *** Whizzer. I don't really like this move. It is something you have to hit early game usually because if they are sweaty it is really hard to do. Plus if it fails you are in a really shitty position. I don't like TDs that put you in a bad spot if you don't hit it.
