Opening the guard ... Sperry instructional style

Does any one use this style where he uses the belt much. A guy I train with has been doing it a bit , but I always get the double armbar pretty easy when he does. Also seems like the tomoe nage and dlr sweeps are a big danger. I have nt really tried the position at all. In the instructionals Mario swears by it ????????????????

I used it quite a bit earlier.

It's very useful especially if you're good at the Margarida knee slide pass.

And to emply DLR or tomoe nage they have to open guard and voila, you achieved your goal.

Be mindful of wrist locks and if his belt is too loose hold the top front of his pants instead. A legal wedgie if you will.

You said you used it earlier???? Does that mean you don't any more? If so why did you stop? Does this style of guard opening make it alot easier to deal with a cross collar grip as you don't really have to fight it trying to regain posture?
