BJ Penn used it to Matt Hughes' back in there second fight. Rewatch that to get a feel for it. I don't use it but I may add it to me game sometime in the near future.

Aren't you better off downloading it than getting it off ebay? None of the money goes to Telles either way.

that is actually completely untrue.

The guy who made the DVD's is selling them on ebay, so the only one you're cutting out of the equation is Budovids

now depending on who makes the videos none of the money goes to the instructor regardless. I remember when master mansor made his instructionals he was royally ****** by the production company.

No promotion of illegal downloading allowed, so be careful here.

Awesome set, tho octopus guard is just one dvd. Yesterday I was working on an octopus guard position from half guard lockdown that works really well.

I was thinking about getting something like this. I'm a white belt, but my instructor said I'm close to blue. My reasoning for wanting this, is because I thought that if I'm just training traditional BJJ, and trying to beat blues by doing basic techniques, that I'll always be behind because they've been doing the basics longer than me. However, if I take up an alternate variation of BJJ, like the Turtle, and became very proficient in it, then I could thrown things at the blues they haven't seen before, and might stand a better chance at leveling the playing field.

Plus Turtle intrigues me!

I'm still new to BJJ, but I like going for the octopus guard as a control postion when guys spaz out in my half guard. I can usaully get them to calm down a little so I can go back to my side and begin my offense. (especially if they're not familiar with the position)

I've trained with both of these before. Not much with the octopus, so I'm still not sure on how I feel about it, but turtle is great. Everyone needs to learn it imo. It is more of a temporary thing though, you know. From what I've seen, you are not going to be in it for an extended period of time. Good transitions, good sweeps. I think it will be a frequently used position in the next 2-3 years.
