Not only are you wrong, but I don't think your anecdote is possible.

imo, wrestling is better for takedowns than judo in mma and bjj is better for subs. judo is fine if you don't want to crosstrain

Anyone else notice that OP never once returned to the thread to defend/expand upon his ideas? I suspect trolling when that happens. Wouldn't be the first time that good responders have turned a troll-thread into something useful though.

Judo = Formal regulated sport.
Jiu Jitsu = Ancient weaponless fighting techniques.
Brazilian/Gracie Jiu Jitsu = A mix of Judo, old school JJ and NHB Brazilian street fighting...
jj had weapons techs it was the infighting with daggers and throws and subs to end one on one battles on the battlefield

sorry guys but

BJJ > judo on the ground

Wrestling > Judo in no-gi and especially in MMA. dont bring up karo cuz for every karo there is a hughes, sherk and koschek

i know some of you guys love judo so you try to justify and put its place above some of the more dominant grappling arts in no -gi, and yeah ofcourse judo is extremely useful and has its place but those two arts are better in their single aspect than judo.

in the gi judo is insanely useful and probably at least on the same level if not better than wrestling for TD's but still falls short of pure bjj for groundwork. problem is this is just with the gi and no gi has a much bigger focus today than it used to.

dont get mad, only being real

Its doesnt matter if you're from PRIDE or not. top fighters are losing/upset from both PRIDE/UFC

Everyone hangs with bjj purple belts on the internet.

I can't believe I didn't notice this thread sooner.

You know why BJJ is better than Judo?

There aren't any Judoka moderators in here.
