NEW BJJ School in Brooklyn, NYC. Lotus Club Brooklyn

If anyone is interested, my friends Camilo and Matheus Oliveira have opened up their branch of Lotus Club, Lotus Club Brooklyn.

The school is located at:

333 St. Nicholas Ave. 2nd. Fl
Ridgewood, NY 11385
(917) 232-4962 or (917) 749-7325

Matheus "Cabeca" Oliveira was the head BJJ instructor at Camp Undefeated. He was also a 2008 Pan American Gi Champion.

Camilo is also a 2008 Pan Am No-Gi Champion.

Both have extensive competition records and have recently been promoted to the rank of Brown Belt. Combined, they have 20+ years pf experience in grappling.

If anyone is interested you can either PM me, post here or give them a call. To my knowledge they are the only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school in the immediate area. Both guys are great people and wonderful instructors. If you are interested in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu then please check them out.

I believe they are still working out their schedule however I do know they plan on having class at 7PM Monday - Friday and 9AM on select days.

I forgot to add, they are 1 block away from the M and L Train at Wyckoff-Myrtle Ave. and about 5 minutes from the Jackie Robinson Parkway.

Not sure. Give them a call, I think its going to be around $120 a month which is EXTREMELY affordable considering what martial arts instruction costs in New York City.

Yeah, but not extremely practical to go all the way to the ghetto to save $40/month.

how is that the ghetto? Its actually a fairly safe neighborhood. Its just not the prettiest neighborhood as there are a lot of old buildings, lots of people living close together. Mixture of Hispanic and Eastern European mostly.

My own business is not too far away from the school, about 10 blocks away practically the same neighborhood.

I would have no problem taking the subway to train over there.

c'mon guys, have you ever been in Ridgewood? We aren't talking about East New York here which I could say that is not the nicest neighborhood.
