I had the time of my life there. It sounds like you are too. Are you in Barra? (I'm sorry if you said it already) Gordo left GB to start his own school in Barra, right?
I stayed at the Gracie camp in 06 which is in Barra. I think it's still considered part of Rio. Gordo was on the mat when I was there.
Keep posting. thanks

Washing the Gi hasnt really been that much of an issue thus far. We have a washing machine and I just throw one in there when I get back from class. The problem is the drying, we dont have a dryer. So typically I lay them out around the pool (yes I know I´m spoiled) and let them dry. I´ve been lucky becuase it´s only rained one day since I got here. The biggest factor with the gi that I´ve found is the brand. I had 6 kimonos before I came down here (2 krugans, 2 gameness, 1 koral and one kagi) and they dry at varying degrees. I absolutely love my gameness kimons but they dont dry well at all and they are VERY thick. I was given a Prido Kimono when I got down here and honestly I have to say it is the best gi that I´ve ever owned. It fits correctly, is just right in thickness and dries amazingly well in the sun. I actually just purchased two more and I´m looking forward to phasing out my other gi´s if I can manage it.
Yes I am in Barra and I´m not sure that I could have picked a better place. I´m not really into partying so it´s far enough away from the bustle of night life that I dont hear people screaming and being drunk yet if I want that I can take a walk and go there or if I really want to go somewhere nice I can take a 10 minute taxi cab ride and be in the surrounding areas with lots of gringos.
I did know that Gordo came from Gracie Barra and there are a lot of guys that have patches from both schools, some guys with tattoos and some guys that train at both places. From what I understand there isnt really any bad blood between the schools which is nice becuase I´m not really into playing the politics either. Let´s hope I can continue to avoid that aspect of BJJ.
