It was tough to keep training in Iraq but I didnt really start training serious until I got home. As far as rolling with high level guys, well that wasnt an issue because I wouldnt describe myself as high level at the time. My idea of a good guard pass was punch them in the face until their legs opened up. It was much easier to find sparring partners than rolling partners. I went at the very beginning of the war following in the initial invasion so I've been home over 5 years.
Yes I do find that I have a size advantage over most Brazilians although I'm on the border of being really big, I'm just slightly bigger than the average guy, so I have plenty of people in my weight class to roll with. I trained twice today and I came in at 89.9 kilos if that gives you an idea.
