If you're going to Sao Paulo, I would recomend Alliance, can't go wrong with them. Expensive as hell, but worth it.

Like R$ 300 monthly (around 150 US dollars). At least that's expensive by our standards, considering most gyms cost around R$ 100 monthly.
Since Garcia charges 300 US dollars at his gym in Florida, maybe that's a good deal for a foreigner willing to train at the best gym in the world (you'd be training with Gurgel himself after all).

yeah i guess its all relative...any idea how much they charge the gringos for private lessons?
Im sure at alliance sao paolo you can get some of the best training in the world though. Just tons of hungry, up and coming purples, browns and blacks.

Wow.. I think I'm looking for something a little more reasonable. What are the major gyms in Sao Paulo?

Private lessons are paid by individually... it's around 85 dollars with regular instructors and 120 with Gurgel. Taken from his website.
I dunno if he would charge more knowing the student is foreign, I doubt he's so greedy.
Rai_polo, will you be staying in certain part of the city or you'll just stay somewhere close to the gym of your chosing? If it's the former, Sao Paulo is freakin HUGE, so you should take into account where each gym is located.
If it's the latter, there's Brasa, Checkmat, Godoi, Lotus... also, if you like Alliance but the price turns you off, you can pay for semestrel or yearly plans... the yearly sums up to 90 dollars a month.

Thanks alot Guys, you've been alot of help. I'd really like to study with Godoi/Tozi/Reis. Those guys have a really tight top game that I'd love to learn. My teammate is currently training with checkmat so I'll talk to him when he returns. With all of Brasa's main stars leaving they don't have quite the appeal they had this time last year.. Anyone know wher ATOS is located?
The reason I'd like to train in Sao Paulo is because I'm muslim and alot of the muslims in Brazil live in Sao Paulo. So it would make it easier for me to live near a mosque when I want to go pray or study.
