where are you training in copacabana? What streets it on and how much are they charging you? Do you speak any portuguese?

Is it crawling with americans now? Last I was there (dec2004) the place was hopping with black americans looking for some hot mulatress safadhinas. It was just after snoop doogs video. In 2000 it was mostly just euro tourists but i think its changed big time.

Do they still have monchiques rodizio on ns sra and santa clara in copa? Its still about my favorite place ever. Picanha FTW!!!

Awesome blog,
I was there a few years ago and actually met/rolled with a lot of the people you mention (Patty, Donnie, and Dennis). I mixed travel and Jiu Jitsu, and you can see it on a blog I later created.

I didn't really talk about BJJ, more just traveling and culture in general. It may take a while to get into it, as it may be boring in the beginning, but there is a funny story in the end in Manuas. Regardless, you will inspire others to travel and think outside the box. When you return to the states you will realize that nothing really changes, and everybody is doing the same thing. Good luck, have fun, and keep us posted.

Seriously, one of my favorite fighters EVER!

Thought i heard he was moving to LA soon though? Any truth to that? Id love it if he opened a gym somewhere in the LA Area.
