Looks pretty interesting to me.

Us Michigan grapplers should make it interesting and give it a good turn-out. I like that they are attempting to use the tournament to create a grappling circuit in Michigan.

Here is the info that I have:

The Elite Federation Of Grapplers first event will be July 12, 2008 at the BEAUTIFUL Club Venetian Banquet and Conference Center. The Divisions and Fee's are listed below:

Gi Divisions:

Adult-$50 Youth-$35

No-Gi Divisions:

Adulte-$50 Youth-$35

Both Divisions (Gi and No Gi)

Adult-$65 Youth-$60

Spectator Fee-$6

All competitors must pre-register for this event. Competitors that pre-register before Saturday July 5, 2008 will receive a free event T-Shirt! Please send your photograph in with your pre-registration form so that we can post it on the site for your profile.

The final day of registration will be Wednesday July 9, 2008. All competitor names and order of brackets will be posted online on Friday July 11, 2008.

How to register? Visit the REGISTRATION page and fill out a complete registration form and submit it. After submitting your registration form, you may then pay for your tournament by one of the following methods: Competitors and spectators may register by mail (certified check or money orders only....NO PERSONAL CHECKS!!!), or they can simply go to the "web store" located on this site and pay by credit (or debit) card or Pay Pal. To pay by mail, please make your Certified Checks or Money Orders out to: Academy Of Soo Do Thai. If you are paying by mail, it MUST be postmarked by Friday July 4, 2008! Any certified checks or money order received after Wednesday July 9, 2008 may result in the competitor not being bracketed in his/her division. IF the competitor is bracketed in their division (for entries received after July 9) they will be charged an additional $20 at the door per division for their late registration. Please be advised, no competitors may register at the door the day of the event.

The most supportive school will receive a plaque and $100 cash!!!

$50 award for biggest youth team! $50 award for biggest adult team!!!

Awards: Beautiful first thru third place medals will be awarded in each division. All fourth place winners and finalists will also be recognized with medals too! Every competitor will receive something!

I'm gonna be attending. The Dojo is planning on having a tournament every 3 months.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but figured some Michigan grapplers would be looking at it.

I'm going to MSU this fall, do they have a BJJ club? Is there an "unofficial" collection of BJJ guys that train together there? Thanks.

It's going to be hard to be away from my BJJ schools at home .
