Knee on Belly defense?

So there is this guy at my gym, he's bigger than me, and much better at BJJ. Whenever we roll he gets to a dominate position and goes for knee on the belly (actually more shin on the belly, since I can't get out on either side with his knee on one side of my body and his foot on the other) he then postures up and I can do absolutely nothing. How do I combat this, other than not letting him get there?

Hip escape and push his knee off. Watch out for the armbar. If he starts underhooking your arm, you're probably in trouble.

Hey I never said my advice was any good lol. I'm a lowly white, that's the only escape I know. You're close to purple Mikey, feel free to add some advice. You'll be helping both of us out.

Which is exactly what happens. If he is on my right side with his right knee on belly, I will try and use my own right elbow to scoot out, but i'm only able to scoot a little, even turning onto my side. If I use my left hand I get armbarred.

Slide the leg nearest to him towards him while pushing his leg down towards your feet. Then tie up his foot and slide into half-guard.

It may sound weird, but I found a lot of success whenever someone tried knee on belly.

I'm gonna try it, he's just so damn heavy and balanced.

It's almost like helping him get closer to mount in order to enable you to get half-guard easier.

It's worth a shot. After all, that's what rolling is for: Practice.

There's another variation of the sweep pictured above, turn in towards the leg opposite to the one on your stomach and shrimp away, when he tries to follow space should be created between his hamstring and his calf, slip your outside knee in that space between his hamstring and calf, grab his posted leg and roll to your other side, make sure you control his legs when sweeping so he cannot put you back into guard.
