Great advice! Thanks. I'm going to try using some baking soda and soaking it for now on. I haven't ever really had too much of a problem, but there is still a little bit of residual funk every now and then.

Wash it as soon as you get home. Don't let the funk sit in your gi for a couple days on the laundry room floor

Either Oxi-clean, or a cup of white vinegar added to the wash water for my gis has worked well for me.

I know hydrogen peroxide will brighten whites if they get dingy looking. If a fabric freshner, Febreze, and regular washing don't get the funk out then buy a new gi.

thanks for all the help, hanging it in the sun sounds like a good idea so if it smells like outside that's better than any alternative. I was expecting a lot of take more shower comments. I have a black gi so I can't use bleach, but baking soda might work.
