yup he was an old school ref , and i knew that , thats why i i just kept positoning , the guy was a former am wrestler so i wanted nothing on the ground cuz i didnt want to try something and get pinned .

good example of using a wrestlers weakness by baiting them with a low stance in judo competition though . the sumi was very easy to pull off.

Like Thales Leites?

There is a system that judo should offer that makes you a base out fighter for throws.
Nick and Nate Diaz have executed text book judo throws in the cage. In particuliar I remember seeing Nate pulling a nice harai goshi.

FrankyEdgar has pulled off, or what appears to be osoto gari, but trips are very common in all grapplingand wrestling forms.

What do you guys think of the one knee drop seo? Seems like it could be effective against a crouching opponent and I think its legal even in white belt level comps, yes?

Yea nate did do a Harai Goshi, he had a kimura grip though. It was his fight right before his last one. Nate and them do do some Judo at Cesar's school. Not too much, but some.

and yes, Franki Edgar did.

Video 78 spencer fisher vs frankie edgar - FIGHT - Dailymotion Share Your Videos

Osoto at 3:34 left in Round 1 He also does a Kosoto in round 2 and Ouchi in round 3

Spencer Fisher did a mean Harai-Goshi on Sam Stout in their first fight.

And Hermes Franca almot paralyzed Caol Uno on a TEXTBOOK Harai-Goshi.

Joe Riggs tapped to a Harai-Goshi due to spinal injury...

One drop is cool, but te double drop Seoi works even better, although it's a little more dangerous.

I'm under the impression that in most BJJ comps the double knee drop seo is verboten at the white belt level which is where I plan to compete.
