Judo throws with no-gi

Hey just curious about doing judo throws with no gi. I do judo alot and I've progressed fairly well. But I am just wondering about the no gi. Say if I wanted to do a seoi nage, osoto-gari or an uchi mata. Would I be doing over hooks? Underhooks?

My personal choices

Osoto-Gari- Hand behind the head, other hand on the back of arm at elbow

Seio-nage- Ippon Seoi Nage, same thing, Dropping is MUCH more effective

Uchi-mata- I like it from the overhook and the underhook

Karo Parisyan has a dvd instructional for mma, seems like it would apply well for what you are looking for.

I've pulled off some no-gi hip throws, they are easier if you're a big guy.

Karo's stuff is cool. There is some unrealistic stuff in there in my opinion.

Trying to learn Judo without the Gi is much harder than making the transition from Judo to No-gi Judo.

Speed and footwork is the main thing. Karo is very quick with his attackes and setups. If your not without the Gi, good lucjk

well if he is talking about competitions they don't allow you to grab cothes, and if he was talking just in the street most clothing will hold up to a normal judo grip except a tanktop...although I did watch someone get colar choked with a tanktop once...it was pretty cool.

For me I like the over under grip that aoki used against sakurai. It's really good for osoto gari and harai goshi.

Uchi mata is one I've yet to find an effective grip for. The overhook (whizzer) and arm/elbow that karo uses and aoki uses, never works for me. Going from a necktie (grabbing their neck, sucking elbow in tight) and controlling their elbow/arm, it's really easy to lock the head and go for a hip throw. Karo does his uchi mata like that as well. I've had luck doing like a tai otoshi-ish thing with it.

The final one I like is the same as the overhok and elbow/wrist/arm one, except I use an underhook, and it's pretty effective. plus its real easy to fake a hip throw, and then go into over/under into a forward throw like ouchi gari, kouchi gari, osoto, etc.

Hope this helped. I definitley reccommend the karo dvd, and get the aoki dvd as well. Both go throw awesome no gi judo throws, and aoki has many of his modified throws in gi as well. It's one of the best instructionals I've ever seen.
