JiuJitsu in Brazil

I am planning on heading to brazil in about a year and a half to do some JiuJitsu training down there. I have been practicing for about three years and it has always been a dream to travel do so. I was wondering if anyone has any advice or recommendations on places to train, were to live, how to live, and anything else that would be helpful. I am trying to save up as much money as I can so I don't have to work while Im there and would like to stay for as long as I can, I think I have to figure out what kind of visa to get too. Well any help would be great, Thanks!

Tourist visa, stay for 3 months and get extension. Unless you study at a university, then you can get a one year visa. I hope for your sake that the dollar rebounds...it will help your money go the distance. If you are in your 20's and can still stand living with a few people, you could always live in a república. Which city do you want to go to? Naturally most people think of Rio, but there is so much more to Brasil than Rio.

Didn't you ever see the episode of Fight Quest when they went to go train in Brasil?

Bro, just go to the beach and Rickson will be waiting for you.

There are no people left in Brazil who do BJJ - they're all here making money off of us.

Sorry - couldn't resist.
