Jean Jacques Machado Online Training
If you have not heard about it, heres my input. I will be as unbias as I can since I do happen to train there as well.
I joined today 3/25/07. I have heard about it for months before but never knew what it was really about. I was expecting a site with many techniques, but not many options, in other words I was expecting to follow a specific path, though that would be another good idea, I think that BJJ practitioners like having options. As I was checking it out I noticed that the entire format and set up was much more advanced that I had thought, but what really got me was the simplicity of the program. This probably has to do with the fact that JJM has a patented technology called T.A.P.
The main reason that I decided to tell you guys about it was because there have been MANY times (and still are) that new guys come in (new to Sherdog not to grappling) and ask how do you escape this, how do you attack from here? Well the program Jean Jacques is running answers those questions for you. Remember BJJ.org? The awsome site with the family tree? Well JJM's program is very similar to that. You can pick and chose which techniques YOU want to learn. It has many techniques and VERY detailed. I train under him and still decided to check it out, now that I know what its all about I really think that many answers regarding my game will be answered.
Another thing that caught my attention was the wrestling instruction. I know some of you hardcore grappling fans here are already thinking "Jean Jacques is not a wrestler, he plays the guard game all the time so what can he teach me about wrestling?". Jean Jacques doesnt teach the wrestling, he has two of his students, both in which are very accomplished wrestlers. You will be impressed with the professionalism of this program.
Now guys, I personally know many of you, I've trained with many of you and wouldn't try to promote something that I really didn't believe in. For starters, I'm not getting paid for this nor does the academy even know that I'm giving the word out, but I became a member today and can let you guys know that I really enjoyed it. From a guy who has seen MANY instructional videos sets, books, youtube techniques, and even seen the techniques first hand from JJM himself, i have to say that the detailed explanation was a bit of a surprise to me.
Alright I think I've done what I needed to, I'm off to get lost in those techniques.
Thoughts and opinions/disagreements are always welcome.
