I don't have enough experience to weigh in one this in a good way as many of you have.. However I am that example of an athletic big guy.

The first two weeks of No-gi... I was getting tapped by everyone and only escape others do to strength. After I quickly learned the basics of what not to do along with some vids and reading.... a week later people could hardly sweep me and or submit me. I learned how not to use power at all and just rely on the basic technique that I was shown. The most important thing for me was to slow the F down lol.

I like this BJJ stuff. I think a lot of it is mental. If your mental game is straight and your physical self is up to the task.. you can progress fast....

As someone who weighs 115, I also think weight difference is relative. The question is percents, not lbs. For me to give up say, 15lbs is giving up a significant proportion of my own body weight.
