How many Gis....?

How man Gi's do you guys suggest owning at one time? I train about 3-4 times a week, and I own two gi's, my atama pants are already starting to fall apart. Just wondering how many Gi's you guys own/recommend owning.

Thanks

If you train like that you should work with 3-4 kimonos.

me and myself work now with 4 kimono @ 5-6 days training

Over summer I managed training 2 times a day 4-5 days a week, with just 1 gi.

After the morning session I would hang the gi up in the sun, and then after the night I would wash it.

I train nearly every day and have only 1 gi. Hang it up directly after practice in a place that gets direct sunlight and wash it every few days. Here they only wash their once a week or so, and they never stink cos they get aired so well. If you use it and leave it in a bag it'll stink almost instantly, however if you hang it up straight away its fine.

Disgusting. Every time you roll with people you swap sweat and create bacteria. You hang it up and it dries with bacteria and fungus grows in any spot it can. It just continues to grow overnight and then you wear it again for others to enjoy.

Wash your gi's daily people. Wash them well. If you can't wash them daily, buy more than one.

a) 95% of the training we do here is standing throws so there is significantly less of the body contact you are thinking of and

b) if you were correct there would be mass outbreaks of skin infections and what not, and there hasnt been a single one since this dojo has been open with the current sensei in charge, which is over 30 years. I asked specifically about this and they said this is the standard practice in Japan. The same system is used in the other dojos I have visited here, the gis are hung on special hangers beside the open window all day in order of grade and there is never any staph or ringworm or anything like that.

Im one of the guys who washes his gi after EVERY practice, i just dont feel right putting it on and rolling knowing its already been worn, for my sake and others.

I train around 3 times a week, for the record i have 3 gis, with a 4th on its ways. I have my very first gi, a no name single weave which is only really a back up, then the two i use most a pair of warrior one double weave in blue and white. Arriving any second now is my new gameness black platinum ,can't wait.
