is anyone else here a double hopper or a switch hopper?

like, not ken-ken, but when i do it in randori i usually have to plant, lift, then hop back and plant more, or i do this sweet super jump-in 180 switch leg scissor spring bob thing. and yes, that's the technical term

i'm still trying to figure out where i like to reap at though. i usually don't need to reap that much since i more or less try and do a fucking airfall with my pull, but i've heard both schools of thought.

unless they're sprawling, then it's usually ouchi-mata, or "ball sweep".

i still like hane better

I don't think I ever throw uchimata without it being by accident. I mean I will be trying for some kind of hip throw which os off or I miss and then I realize Uchi-mata is right there and then I take it.

I find that when I hit a really good uchi-mata it goes staight up the middle. The thing is that I use more of my hip than leg and it feels effortless. I also find that when I do co uchi-mata it never feels as efforless or as clean. I know it is classified as ashi waza in nage no kata but I think that the hip plays a way bigger role in the way that I do this throw

I usually get a tight kubinage style headlock then swing it up and ken-ken them until they fall and I land on top of them.

Shorter guys my leg goes up more towards their torso and topples them, taller ones its more of a foot sweep style maneuver.

Definatly an O-Uchimata type. When I do try to hit it.

I prefer Harai-goshi or O-Guruma to Uchimata myself though. I seem to have better luck putting my leg across after the O Uchi Gari.

the one in the vid i posted is the closest i could find for uchimata makikomi. truth be told I just throw that leg and sometimes its hani, hari or uchi makikomi depending on his correction.

Taka Uchi mostly, Uchi mata is my favorite throw (it doesnt means im profficient with it after 1 and a half month of training, but i find it the most interesting)

I just came back from practice, and tonight it was the first time that i threw someone with it in randori (randori in my school tends to be very competitive) It was with my last partner after trying to throw everyone with it and hitting the mat like a thousand times, but anyways, i feel very happy about it, all the drilling finally pays off.
