Help with buying a gi. Size question.

Hey, guys. I need a gi, but i'm not sure what size I am. I'm 6'0, and I'm 175 lbs. Thanks.

Or an A3 for length of sleaves.

Ask in the G&E forum. Everyone there is super cool and knows their stuff.

I'm 5'11" at 175 lbs and an Atama A3 fits me just right. Before washing it, it had maybe 1/2" (if that) extra leg / sleeve length, but after the first wash, it's shrunk just a little and fits perfectly now.

thanks a bunch. Sometimes the gi's don't have the "A3, A4, etc." sizing, and only have 3,4,5, etc. Are these the same? I'm on SSF fight gear, but see no size charts anywhere.

Also...is this a good gi? Will it hold up well? I don't want to spend money on gear, and then have it rip right away.

here's another:

By the way, I'm doing BJJ.

I would go A2 if you buy a pre-shrunk gi, or A3 & shrink to fit if not.

I'm the same height as you & weigh 205. My A3 Koral is a little baggier than i'd like in the midsection, but Korals are pre-shunk.

Korals being pre-shrunk means I could dry it full time and regular heat and not worry about shrinking it? My SSF gi shrinks when I air dry it...thus I stand on one sleeve and pull the other to my face before I wrestle every time.
