Help with aggression

I have a problem harnessing "good" aggression. I'll be coming up for a belt test soon and my instructor told me that my technique is solid blue belt level but that i need to work on aggression. My thoughts on rolling have always been to rely completley on technique and if I have to really force anything then I'm doing it wrong(I'm 5'7 145lbs btw). Any good ideas on how to develop a more aggressive style. An example of what I'm talking about is in my first match we were tied up on the ground for a bit and I broke of and stood up. Instead of shooting right in for a takedown I let the guy get settled on his feet. I guess I'm too much of a "nice guy" grappler.

I personally don't buy into all the "aggression" crap......... you want aggression and explosion your in the wrong sport....... go wrestle. Jiu-Jitsu is a technical sport with little spans of aggression, not constant aggression. One thing to remember though is that you should Dictate the pace and always be setting them up....... because if you don't... they ARE!

i am very passive when i fight... and honestly.. i want to keep it that way..

As i get older the aggression is going to fade anyways, and the only that it will leave behind is a an accumulation of injuries. Keep the mentality you have, if you dont have it... you dont have it... just works that way.

Agressiveness can take you far, and can win you fights.. but in the end is it what you want?

If you want to be agrressive have your friends lock you in a cage, and not feed you for 3 weeks. Make sure everyone laughs at you and pokes you with sticks while in the cage. Make sure it is very traumatic.. After three weeks you should come out with a completely new hate for Humanity and elevated agression...

Or you could have your parents walk out on your at an early age, and be placed in foster home after foster home.. with foster parents that are trying to fuck you, and get extra money fromt he government for you... then when you finaly reach 18 you will hate the world and be ready to kill everyone..

Most aggressive people have been through a world full of shit, and its that hectic very unforgiving world that has shaped them into the aggressive person they are...
