- The Staller. I hate it when you roll with someone who just tries to hold you on closed guard. they dont go for sweeps or submissions, they just stall.
- The Big and strong spaz with no tech. I hate them. Exp. if they get to sidemount and jsut lay on top of you. And when you eventually sweep them they tap because of exaustion.
- The faker. He wants to look good and often says stuff like "lets go light" and goes 100% himself. If you own him or he gets tired he fakes a injury.
- The "its all about winning". He does anything to get a tap. Dirty moves and stuff. Often is also a spaz.
- The "newguy". He comes to train a few times and then quits. If you roll with him you have to stop because he is too tired and also have to show him moves all the time. So you arent even really rolling, you are teaching him.
- The "I tap before you submit". Really annoing one. He taps when you try something. Like you go for a triangle and he taps instantly when you get your feet crossed.

I'm guilty of exerting too much energy and gassing, but I never tap to it. I don't flail or anything, either, I'm just not that good, lol. Does that count as spazzing?
I never liked rolling with smelly people, like the dude that washes his gi once a week. It's especially bad in the summer here in Florida. Also, I hate rolling with people that aren't really into it, like, "I am tired from the gym" or "I've got issues at home." Not to be insensitive, but leave home issues there, this is a jujitsu dojo!!! Use this time as a chance to escape from those issues, don't contaminate my mat with them! We really don't have very many of the stereotypes at my gym (so far, I know, I know, they'll come) other than the jacked wrassler with something to prove, but that's every bjj school near a college, right?

I had spun and was basically in a high sit-up position holdin' his arm at a 90 degree angle in between my legs, startin' to fall back as I felt the tap. I said, "I didn't even have that all the way?" He goes, "No, but you would have." I said, "Dont ever do that again." He hasn't. He even made fun of himself for doin' that then today.

What are you talking about? why should he wait until you crank and hurt him to tap? some subs you can wait and keep fighting, like a kimura american etc. you can with armbars too, depending on the position. But a lot of times, if a guy gets a real good armbar real fast, I will tap when I know he has it. Especially if my arm is already extended. If you have my arm and I have no way to defend, Ill tap even before you crank it. That is, if i understand you correctly.

The guys who insist on grapping my shorts and/or rashguard when rolling no gi. I don't mean like one grab accidentally, the guys who do it multiple times during one roll. I never understood that... I train both gi and no gi and never had the urge to grab somebody's clothing in no gi.

HAHA!! I trained with a guy like that once. I've got long legs and I STILL couldn't get them wrapped around his gut. No surprise that he was also king of stallers.

I had a lovely high mount experience with a girl as she put her hands right on my crotch as if to push me off from there but it turned into just having her hands on my crotch and being right near her face. I found myself a little stunned and the timer went off. I always wonder what would've happened.
I also find myself really content with just laying in a woman's guard too. It's a good thing I rarely roll with women. It's a huge dislike for me, unless we're naked.

we've clearly rolled w/ the same guy. The sad thing is, I'm 5'1" on a good day, so there's only so much leg to wrap around someone. but this dude not only would marvel over my lack of a closed guard game, but how "easily" he could pass. And then do NOTHING. Yay! Let's sit in sloppy side guard and call it an offense!
I recognize that there'a a place for strength in one's game, but when it's the main/only component? Hate it. I usually defuse those types by pointing out "hey! good job! you just overpowered the short girl!" Although sometimes I lift them off the ground, just to see the look on their face.
it's always amazing to me how much ego invades the mat.
