thiss too - i hate guys who do the one while your in their guard where they basicly try to do a backwards rnc.
never works - but does cause some discomfort to my neck - is illegal in tournaments, so why practice it? just a waste of neck, and time.

I refuse to roll with number one. Wear some damn underarmor or some thing. My training is more wrestling based with BJJ thrown in, so i'm not big on GI's but big baggy shirts or cut offs, I won't roll with them and make em change if they want to continue to train.
The fourth I won't roll with either. If some one is going to goof off while I'm trying to train they have too options. Leave or have me hurt them, because let's face it. I'm there, working hard, spending my time and money to become better. Whether i'm training for a fight or just in between time to stay in shape when i'm going lighter, I still want to have serious work.
I hate training with the guys who are extremely strong and think because they are, they are going to walk through every one, but they really don't know a damn thing. They have the basics down and can get control because of their power, but really have nothing else, so they just lay there and try and stop you from moving. It pisses me off because no one learns anything.
Or the guys that good 150% and wear themselves out in like two minutes flat.

I hate this guy. Leg locks scare me, I tap instaneously. (sad, but true)

I can't stand these types of people, they can't pass guard so they just go for leg locks. Although part of it is my fault, I shouldn't leave my self exposed to be caught. I don't do much no gi so I don't normally take heel hooks into consideration when sparring. So when someone does catch me I just tap. I would rather have my knees and feet intact.

I had this guy that I work with come out and train last week. This guy is a pretty big boy, probably 6'3" and about 240 pounds. He ended up falling into almost everyone of these catagories except the giggly girl one, and he really pissed me off.
Now I'm consideribly smaller than this guy, but I'm down to roll with pretty much anyone, so I went to roll with him. I'm still a complete noob to BJJ so I wasn't expecting my technique to give me any huge advantage or even negate his size/strength advantage, but I was pretty sure I would at least me able to survive and work on my defense.
So the roll starts. We start from our knees at my gym, but this asshat pops up off his knees and hits me like I'm a fucking tackling dummy. Then he latches onto my neck and just starts cranking it as hard as he can. It was kind of one of those heel hook type situations where I probably could have kept fighting my way out of it, but I started hearing all kinds of cracking and popping in my neck so I tapped just to make sure I didn't get hurt. This guy did this with everyone he rolled with.
I did get a good laugh in the end though, because we did an hour of straight rolling at the end of the class. This guy seriously looked like he was going to die. He turned blue, and had to sit out three of four times.
What really pissed me off though, was after the class was over all he did was run his mouth about how good he was. About how many people he tapped out. But he had absolutely no technique. He was just way bigger than everyone else and would tackle them, power himself on top of them, and then either crank their neck or smash their face into his blubber and suffocate them.
I guess he is a good motivator though. Because I can't wait to get my technique to the point where his size and strength won't matter when we roll.

Okay...heel hooks/toe holds...NO...esp those that go for them too hard...
Or people that do not know how dangerous they are, or are using them on people who do not know how dangerous they are (in that, if you wait until it hurts, it is too late to tap...the damage has already been done)
Now with the disclaimer out of the way
I say too bad! Anklelocks, Kneebars, Leglocks are all legit submissions. It is not that i do not know how to pass the guard, it is that you left a submission open so I went for it! It is know different that instead of going for the mount, i see an arm lock or choke from the side mount so i go for that instead...
I know i am opening up a can of worms with the "leglocks" issue...but i just had to throw my 2 cents in!
Leg locks are a "legit" submission. It is not less of a submission because i when for you legs...if that where the case one could argue that an armlock is "less" of a submission because you did not go for a choke...

I agree with this. Ask them not to do heel hooks (if they refuse don't roll with them). But leg locks are part of the game ... you'll soon get to the point where you defend against them well enough that they're not an issue.

I hate grapplers who complain about leg locks because:
A) They are completely ignorant to the most elementary leg locks and leg lock defenses.
B) Their guard game sucks.

Do you have any idea how long it took me to master that skill?
