It happens at less then 1 minute into the 2nd round I believe. Belcher has Akiyama in his half guard, trapping Akiyama's right leg between his legs and he underhooks Akiyama's left leg with his right hand. Belcher then takes his right hand and gets his underhook deep on the right hip of Akiyama and plants his left foot and shrimps his hips out to turn into a single then replaces his hands to turn into a double leg.

lol I was actually asking about your details of when you performed the sweep - i.e. where your trouble spots were, what you found helpful, what you think you can do to improve, etc. But that above explanation is very cool as well!
In terms of improving the sweep, getting a butterfly hook with your right leg on his right leg after you plant your left foot makes it easier to get him over
This guy was recently brought to my attention from a post on the UG - brown belt Jake Mackenzie - check out the deep half guard goodness in these matches!
check out this wikkid (open) half-guard sweep
the sweep is at the 0:36 mark.
I think the keys to the sweep is the wrist control, and the grapevining of the bottom leg with the foot, check it out, anyone know of any instructionals that feature this sweep as a counter to the over under pass?
i have tried this sweep a half dozen times since i saw this match and i cannot get the fkn thing to work, i am starting to suspect its based on cyborgs ludicrous hip strength... i'm going to try drilling it again tonight
