Grappling in Windsor, Ontario, Canada
I was hoping you may be able to provide me links to grappling schools (BJJ, Judo, Catch, etc...) in my area.
Thanks...
EDIT: I have recently joined the Rising Sun Judo club, under Bill Thompson... thanks for all the help...

I'm originally from London.
I don't know about Windsor, but there are two excellent coaches in London who are put on a lot of clinics, etc. Maybe you could make the trip up.
1. Harry Geris - Wrestling.
10 time Canadian Heavyweight Champion, 3 time Olympian. 2 of his sons are MMA competitors. He will whip your takedowns and throws into shape.
2. Ray Takahashi - Wrestling/Judo
Olympian in Judo and wrestling. Coach of the UWO varsity team. From a legendary Judo family. He is a little guy, maybe 140lbs? I'm about 6'3" 240lbs and Ray tied me in knots. I'm pretty sure other members of his family teach Judo in SW Ontario.
I haven't lived in Ontario for 10 years so I'm not sure how active they are these days.
Google 'em.

Oh yeah, I know about the drive (put it at more like 1:45) but Harry puts on clinics all over the place - and I figured it might be worth the drive for a one off.
Good Luck.

Well I just called the Rising Sun Judo Club in Lassalle, where William Thompson teaches... the lady I spoke with (who I can only assume is his wife) explained to me that it would cost $75 for the year, and an additional $50 charge for having to join Judo Ontario... I thought at first she meant monthly, but apperantly they are non-profit.
I also asked if their was any possibility of NoGi training, and more Newaza than normal... She said it wouldnt be a problem at all, and that her son was a Judo, Wrestling and Sumo (I think she may have also said JJ) champ, and that grappling would be easily available seeing as how the classes are small...
It's two hours on tuesdays and thrursdays, and I'm dropping by there on next thrursday to feel it out... I'm pretty happy with this find, and heard that this William Thompson was very good to have as a teacher...
Anyways sorry about the long rant, I'm just really happy that I found this, and for this cheap...

I am pretty sure Nady's has a grappling/judo club. I have seen their guys fight, they are the real deal.

Bill is a monster on the mat! His tachi waza is awesome and his ground work is sick. I thought Rising Sun was closed? Is it still at the high school?
Mady's Karate has a jj club run by Mike Nimikos [spelling]. Very solid jj and judo work, Mady's fighters are excellent stand up with one competing in K1 when it first started. Kihon Karate is also really good, the Windsor area has some good fighters coming up.
I'm just down the road an hour.
