Flight or Fight Instinct

So where do all you guys put yourselves instinctively when the fight of flight instinct takes effect. Are you initially ready to flee or fight? I want to avoid specifics of a scenerio, as obviously if a situation is assesed then the response will be different depending on the infinite amount of variables scenerios have to offer.

Well, I've never been in a real fight, so that instinct hasn't come up too often. In the gym, its obviously "fight." The closest I ever came was when I was chased by a dog. I ran, then decided to fight and threw my flyers in his face, then decided to run again. I got away, so it worked.

Personally I will try pretty much anything to get out of a street fight. Its just not worth it. I'm in my 30's so I'm not so young guy ready to throw down at a drop of a hat like I used too. There is too much back lash with possibly getting arrested(been there and jail is not fun). What if you really whip the guys ass and they end up on the hospital. Suddenly you charged with assault or get a civil suit to pay for bills and all that crap.

Don't get me wrong. A guy walks up and takes a swing at me and its on. But when its still at the point of just a lot of trash talking and posturing I'll just walk away. I'm not soo insecure I feel I have to get into a fight every time someone decides to show how much of an ass they are.

Run fast as hell. I don't expect to ever get in a fair fight after HS. Especially since most of my friends carry knives and some guns. They are a bunch of cowards, but I don't wanna risk my life so someone else can make a statement.

There's this spanish saying.. "Cual prefieres que digan? Aqui es donde Jose murió o aqui es donde Jose corrió"

"Which would you rather have people say? 'This is where he died' or 'this is where he ran"
