Fedors judo

I've heard many times that Fedor doesn't 'use' judo. Don't you get the feeling that if he wore a gi (not sayin he should) that it would look more like judo to the uneducated?

Take away his punching and all I see is judo. Takedowns. Prefers to stay on top in gaurd. And if need be, fight from back(ala Coleman). Russian judo champ. Outside of Pedro and Gill I bet there isn't a North American that could place at the Russian nationals.

Russia has a huge population and while it was the USSR a huge olympic program, to be a Russian champ takes a ton! Judoka are so biased against MMa that they hate on any Judokas that are good at it, just cuz it's mma.

I love Judo, and Fedor and Kharatinov are two of my inspirations- Karo too- I just can't see why there's all the hate, most especially by 70's era Judokas.

I think Rhadi Ferguson could be a threat to the Russians, but I agree, outside of Japan and France, USSR was the next judo superpower.

You're right, I guess Russia isn't the ussr anymore. That would make it easier.

Why do you say most judoka hate on mma?

his style has judo written all over it. i once said this in another forum and some smartass replied "well show me a judo club that teaches you to fight like fedor then". people just forget about his judo because he does alot of boxing too. all his takedowns, ground control and submissions are from judo or sambo, and he's very good at those things.

what exactly do you do with a guy like him? if you stand with him he's gonna hit you hard, if you take him down he'll armbar you in a nanosecond and we all know what happens to anyone that pulls guard on him.
