Escrima guard pass?

Anybody use this? Supposedly a very effective contemporary guard pass. Anyone know how you do it?

Are we talking about the guard sometimes called the escrima guard or is this the name of the pass itself?

It's the pass itself.

Then I assume it involves beating them with kali sticks.

That's not what I call it man ... that's what it's called. I was reminded of it because Saulo's new dvd set has a section devoted to defeating it.

So this would be where you are holding their pant legs but they've put their shins inside your biceps and hooked your deltoids with their insteps?

I've seen a pass where you push into them and then they push back you use that to sort of headstand on their stomach and flip before turning over to north/south before but I haven't seen Saulo's new set so he's probably got it down to a science compared to my suggestion.

I don't know the answer to your question, but it reminds me of something that happened during a private with De la Riva I had a couple weeks ago. My instructor asked him what he called an underhook in Portuguese and he said he used the word "escrima" for underhook. I have studied escrima and thought it was kind of interesting. Its more interesting to now learn from this thread that there is an entire guard with this name and a pass. Looking forward to learning more about it. I'll check out Saulo's DVD, anyone got a link where I can order it from?
