Dumb Reasons You Can't Make it to Practice???
It seems like I haven't been able to go to practice 3 or 4 times in the last month because I forget to throw my gi in the dryer in time for it to be dry for practice. Other than that, I've eaten too much food too close to practice and don't want to be a useless training partner for my teammates so I don't go.
I can't stand doing dumb stuff like that and then you just have to sit at home knowing you should be training. Not injured, not sick.......just dumb. Anyone else ever do anything like this?

Ha, trust me, I want to go. But when you're going to school full time, you can sometimes forget to wash your gi at a certain time, and they take a long time to dry. I only have one gi, so how can I go to practice?

Alot of times when I forget to dry my gi, I just lay it out on the hood of my car while I am at work for it to dry.

I'd never miss practice for those reasons. For one thing, I always wash my gi AS SOON as I get home from class each night. Also, over the past year or so I bought two more gis, just to make sure I'm never caught without one being clean.
I'd never eat that soon before class simply because I know it'd make training miserable. The few times that my work day was so crazy that I was starving before class, I'd eat a small snack but nothing big enough to cause problems with training.
Seriously the only time I've ever missed training was when I was injured and even then depending on the nature / severity of the injury, I'd try to find a safe way to train around it if were possible.
I don't think the way I feel is special at all, but anyone who's serious about training would make sure their gi is ready and that they don't over eat right before class.

Whatever, everyone is acting all high and mighty...Ive had my gi wet before and not been able to train. I have three gis but I wash them all at teh same time. I also try to train at least 5 days a week...should I wash my gi when I get back home, and wash a gi a day? of course not. Life gets in the way, sometimes Im actually pretty tired after class and I dont feel like putting it in the washer, then I forget the next day. Sometimes I get home really late, especially if we ate afterwards. In that case I dont want to make all that noise late at night.
In terms of food, I usually go anyway. Sure sometimes you have to eat close to class but Id rather go and be uncomfortable than not goa at all.
I hate being late because my car is empty though, and i have to fill gas. cant think of anything else right now.
