i usually weigh in around 136 or 137. Ive kinda vowed to do every absolute division until I win won. Ive gotten seconds and thirds but no gold yet. The look on the big guys face walking out to the mat, and then afterwards when I win is priceless and the wins are much more satisfying. I pull half guard almost every match

Awesome pictures, you definetely need an alternative gameplan for going against the bigger guys. It seems like my armdrag only comes out now when I go against the big/strong guys.

some people cut down because they think they're strong enough to bully people around.

i play up to choke them.

I've only done it once as a blue belt and I took 1st in my division and 2nd in the absolute to the guy who took 1st in the heavyweight division. I almost won, i took him down, passed his guard, but he did the fat guy roll, and kept getting quick points for knee on stomach (he never held it for more than 3 seconds, but got the points anyway), I lost by 6 or 7 points. The size difference was just too much, and i don't think I'm going to do it again.

Absolute is the way to go. Like everyone said, it's the prestige of it. Especially being the little guy. When someone 155-180 wins the absolute it's because of pure skill.(there are exceptions)
When at a 270 lbs. guy wins everyone says "He just crushed everyone because he was so big"

I've only did 1 absolute division and got 2nd. Your smile is definitely bigger when you beat someone who outweighs you by 60 lbs.

I wouldn't do it because I hate getting injured more than anything, and the last thing I need is some 260 pound guy landing on me.
