YES YES YES! there is a big difference between choking out a person in a normal scenario and when they have alcohol in their blood. My brother in law is a doctor and him and I actually just had this conversation on sunday. It has to do with recovery from being choked out. Being choked out is generally considered safe because its only a temporary unconciousness (sp?). When someone is inebriated the ability to recover is greatly reduced. I don't remember the science he used to explain it, but an easy example is if you look at the difference between a person sleeping normally, and how deep the sleep is when they are passed out drunk. The brain reacts completely differently and IT IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS. The brain does not recover the same, do not choke out an inebriated person unless you have to.
