"KORAL fitting chart for my size A2 was inadequate and left me entirely discouraged respecting a much anticipated and discussed KIMONO, therefore, I gave it away to friend who's a tough Brown and multiple times Pan Am champion, after having it only 3 weeks the pant ripped unswervingly upward along the inseam toward the crotch! I hate KORAL..."
I've read a lot of complaints about the Koral's pants.
I actually think they make the best pants. The sizechart is wierd as fuck I agree but as a owner of Koral I too did research but couldn't find any threads here about Koral's ripping and I frequent the G/E forum a lot. On another note, I've read reviews about Sprawls being torn before on Sherdog.. but the general opinion about Sprawls is that they are excellent. Bad products leave factories from time to time. A intelligable person could simply call jiujitsuprogear and ask for a switch or a refund. Koral's are probably the best gi's you can get. Plus they support jiujitsu to the fullest so they will get my support as well.

i cant stand koral gis. they are rough as hell and extremely overpriced. the two best gi's in BJJ are atama gold weaves and mkimonos gold... period. again, period.

i have a feeling koral wouldnt be doing half as good as they are if jacare wasnt the champ that he is. classic case of sponsorship.

Or if Xande wasn't sponsered by Koral along with Wanderlei, Leozinho, Saulo, Xande, Maia, Galvao, Terere, etc. I am also sure that most businesses wouldn't do half as good if they didn't sponsor. Where would Sprawl be if they didn't sponsor most fighters in the UFC? Don't hate on them for silly reasons. I can see if you don't like them but don't try and bash their company for supporting BJJ and MMA.

nah man, you misunderstood me. first off, its an opinion yes. i dont like koral gi's. second, i didnt slam them for supporting BJJ. i just find it hillarious how so many people say 'koral make the best gis,' when in fact they dont (and again, that another opinion). haha ok, this is going in circles. all im saying is, EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE AN ATAMA GOLD WEAVE.

Find an A3 preshrunk gi and I think you'll be ok. Most gi brands will tell you if they are preshrunk or not. If not, go to the Gear section on this forum and ask around. Most of the major brand names are representated there and can answer your questions.

Atamas are generally considered the best gi by overall concensus on this forum FYI. Anyone the keeps tabs on the gear discussion forum will know that. Having said that, my next will prolly be a Keiko or Koral.

6'1", 206lbs here. I go for the A3 and seem to go just fine. Even when I was a much more bulked 250lbs I fit into an A3.

Not trying to start a holy war here, but I am a touch taller at 6'5" and ten pounds lighter than you...so I thought I would share some views on fit. I wear a 16/35 shirt and 36 inch inseam. I have the good fortune of being in the LA area and have gone on mission and driven to budovideos, jiujitsuprogear, and onthemat looking for fit. To be honest I think once you get to the top makers it is mostly about preference on details so I won't go overboard on that, I will just give my opinions here on tall skinny fit. To preface this, I own a Koral classic, Gameness Pearl, and Sirius Single gi but there are plenty of great gis out there.

Koral - Good sleeve and pant length. The type of people who bitch about a Koral gi are the same people angry that J.Los butt is to big. It is all personal preference. I would imagine you an A3, A2 was too small for me. I did find it interesting that the colored Korals fit me better than the white ones. I asked about this and they said the colored gis do fit a touch different because fabric is predyed, which I don't get since it is preshrunk and all....don't know if this is true, or if they were just trying to make me feel better. Like others say, you can't really go wrong here.

Atama - I don't have a full gi, but I do have a pair of their pants. Sleeve length is fine, and pant length is good. I love the atama pants, but the jackets just fit me strange, lots of upper body/shoulder fabric just makes the thing fit strange on me. Nice gi, but just doesn't fit me well. If you were daring you might be able to pull off an A2 jacket with A3 pants, but you would have to ask customer service about that one.

Keiko Raca - As people have mentioned these fits tall skinny people well with nice length in the sleeves and pants. It is a nice gi, but I just liked the Koral better for a few dollars more. Again the fit should be there for you, just my personal preference.

Kikskin - It is a really nice gi, the jacket fit well but the pants were a touch short. I would certainly try one of these if I needed another gi (which clearly I don't) but would certainly classify this as a slim fitting gi that would fit your body type.

Sirius - I have an A3 single weave. The jacket and pants are just a touch on the short side for length. The cut is slim and it works on a skinny guy without the lapels feeling like they are going to pop open all the time, in that regard the jacket is quite comfortable. You are a touch shorter than I so I would say this would still fit you quite well. This is a nice gi for the money, A single for $85 or if you check out their clearance they have a black competition A3 for $100 those are pretty good deals.

last but not least
Gameness - I have an A3 Pearl. Let me throw out that, I am a sweat machine so I like lighter gis. This is a gem of a light gi. The arms are long enough, and the jacket fits tall skinny people like a dream...the pants are a touch on the short side but very nice and totally liveable. If I had only one gi I don't know if I would want it to be a Pearl, but it is a great second gi to have around.

I have tried other gis like HCK, Vulkan, Adidas, Krugans, Dragao and probably some others. For one reason or another the ones above were my favorites for the tall skinny fit.
