Commentary Video Match Analysis - Braulio Estima 2003 Pan Ams

This is a video commentary that I did on this match of Braulio Estima at the 2003 Pan Ams.

I recommend that you watch the regular video first to see what you notice in the match. Then watch the video with the commentary and slow motion to see if you noticed what I noticed then lets get some great technical conversations from there. I think it will help a lot more.

I hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!
Jason

thanks for the fix, great job breaking it down and letting us see it. i missed Braulio post that leg out whe he had his arm across the hip at the 2:35 mark; i think that was key in him maintaining dominant position. amazing the speed and agressiveness they go at

I liked the commentary, very intelligent, didn't miss too much. I would have liked to hear more about them wanting to establish their grips after the initial guard pull, but other than that very well done and spot on.

Thanks for the comments.

hayliks, as far as the grips after the initial guard pull, it looked to me that from standing Braulio was establishing more controlling grips then his opponent.

From standing Braulio started with a same side sleeve grip with his left hand (meaning his left hand was holding his opponents right sleeve) and his right hand grabbed for high control over his opponents left shoulder.

When his opponent jumped to pull guard he kept the same side grip with his left hand on his opponents sleeve and then he quickly removed his right hand from over his opponents left shoulder and grabbed a cross lapel grip (Braulios right hand transfered from being over his opponents left shoulder to across and grabbing his opponents right lapel when he moved to combat base)

Have others watched the videos? Were there things that you saw that I may not of?

When you watched the first video without the commentary and slow motion did you miss some details that were pointed out in the commentary?

Good analysis ! It would be great to have better video quality for the next one, it would help pick out the details. Maybe on some other site than youtube ?

Who was Braulio's oponent by the way ?

Yeah, sorry about the blurry video...I found the match originally on YouTube, then I commented on that file so the quality wasn't the greatest to begin with when I did the editing.
