college wrestling

im at my first year at a community college and will be going to a university that has wrestling after 2 years here. i have only wrestled 1 year in 8th grade. So i want to know if you can just sign up for wrestling in most colleges or if you have to have wrestled in high school or have a scholarship or something.

Ask the coaches, it's up to the Athletic Department and the Coaches (at my school anyways) to deem if a fighter is fit and qualified to be competitive at that level.

If you work, train, and give it your all, there is no reason why you can't.

My college has a wrestling club, maybe yours has one too.

If you show your coach that you're willing to give it your all and go through hell, he may let your practice, but you probably won't compete.

If your serious about it, find a way to learn wrestling before you go there. Even just watch wrestling videos will give you some good intuition.
