I've never seen so many Dean's in my life before MMA and I'm a Dean. I thought there was James Dean and Dean Martin and basically me. I guess there's something to being called Mean Dean or Dean the Mean Machine your whole life that winds you up in MMA land. They got a Dean Johnston fighting in the next True Fight Fan.

I didn't realize that there were MMA events so close to home.

The BTT place is over in Lanexa Kansas but it's still just a suburb of KC Missouri. I did a search in KC yellow pages and there are a shitload of Martial Arts places in the area but I never found the site for BTT-KC. It's still called BTT-KC I guess even though it's in Lanexa(which technically on the maps is still in the Kansas City area).

So there are just a shitload of amatuer fights going on in Missouri because of a bullshit law that was over a death that didn't even happen in MMA. It's a start. Know what the closest Professional Promotions are. I know they have King of the Cage in Indiana. http://www.mmashots.com/links.html

What kind of heavy lifting are you into? Do you work on the Powerlifts or the Olympic lifts or Strongman stuff. Looking for some workout partners once I'm up there and none of that gay "we're shaved men in tights and stripes" bs either. Into Sandbags or Kettlebells.

I haven't been able to find the website for it but I did manage to figure out what the new address(old addresses not working) for the BTT Long Beach place was. They have Boxing classes, JuiJitsu classes, and MMA classes. Probably something similar in KC. Boxing could mean all your stand up skills including kickboxing. BTT's thing is being on the cutting edge of MMA so I don't see how they wouldn't train you in what you need to know.

I'm mainly into general strength lifts deadlifts, squats, benchpress, etc along with some power exercises. I have also been taking a weight lifting class at JCCC with senior international ex-romanian weightlifting coach istvan javorek which has got me doing alot of good strength and power overall body exercises with dumbbells. I have enjoyed it alot.

I've always wanted to try kettlebell training but can't find any kettlebells and can't afford to order any
