Eddie never said what his rank would be, my guess is it will stay brown.

From my experiences competition is not the only way to prove your rank. I know guys who kill it in the comps and suck on the mat and vice versa. I wouldnt crucify this guy until his instructor hands down his proper rank.

To be honest I started under a new instructor as a purple belt and never explained my lineage to him.

I know he was "Rolling Light", "Giving up Positions" and (apparently) "Giving Submission Attempt", I read all that - I still call bullshit! The positions he gave up were momentary at best, submission attempts? where? Rolling Light? Dude looked like he was trying out for Abu Dhabi...the way he finished that twister was totally unecessary...the second video...if I have to say anything about that horrid second video I'll shoot myself, this is all self-explanitory if you're not a complete newb.
at least one of the guys you quoted is a well know purple belt with a strong comp record (stalkachu)

cool, i was just pointing it out because i know stalks form other threads, he trains at rogers and is a bit of a beast on the mat... he has also trained at 10th planet and rolled with eddie as well, there is video of it somewhere

so are we ever going to find out Darce's linage?

I would love to see some videos of these guys calling out blue belts on their level of technique. I watch some of the videos from when I was a blue belt and I think "man there was the hard way and the easy way and I almost always chose the hard way". It actually makes me sick to look at some of those videos.

Some of you forget that the blue belt has a wide range. The new blue belt knows the positions, has a "decent" understanding of the basic submissions and their defenses and has started to implement them in live rolling with limited to mild success. Maybe I'm wrong here but I come from a "strong" linage.

Just so we're clear about who I am. I was a white belt for 18 months, I was a blue belt for two and a half years. Throughout most of my time I trained 4-5 times a week with the last two years being 10+ times a week. I've been a purple belt for a little over 2 years...actually closer to 2.5.

It would be HILARIOUS if we found out Darcebrabo didn't do BJJ.

It is a fair question at this point. You have put yourself out there.
